I love Sark! I have loved Sark ever since high school when my friend Mary and I found some of her greeting cards on sale at Barnes and Noble. Mary picked them up and said,"I want to live like this." and I couldn't agree with her more. Since I have not been feeling my creative vibes recently I did a quick search for some Sark inspiration and found this gem of a book.
It is a plan for procrastinators, perfectionists and people who would rather sleep all day. All three of those are me!! That's not really something to be proud of though. Maybe this little book, actually a rather big book for Sark being 300+ pages, will give me some motivation. I have the ideas and all the resources just none of that get up and go. Here's hoping!

Dream a little dream of me.
Where have I been? I've been asleep, that's where. Sleeping that dead person sleep where your dreams are freakishly vibrant and REAL. I dreamt that the hippies took over San Francisco and there were these gas stations where gas was $.93 and $.98 and there were signs everywhere saying,"Hippies R Here" and "Damn the Man" things like that. At one gas station there was a vending machine type thing but it was all on the honor system. Nice. My husband was in the dream with me and we visited this park with huge toys, like giant blue dinosaurs and enormous pink elephants with swings on the trunks, and I guess it was right next to someplace like the YMCA because then we went swimming. I also bought these tiny plastic whistles to take home to my nieces and nephews. They were all different animals and bright colors and for some reason I remember they were only fifty cents. If I ever find whistles like these in my waking hours I'm going to buy every single one of them. They were so cute and tiny and made the sweetest little tinkling sounds. I wonder what a dream interpreter would say about this one!

Survey says.....
A funny little survey that I did on Myspace. To see my Myspace page go to www.myspace/edavisgee.com.
Go to urbandictionary. com and type in your answer to each question in the search box, then put the first definition it gives you.
1) Your first name? Erin
1. an extremely aweome girl with talent, humor, and beauty.
2. Lover of 7.
I love you ur such an erin!
The Beautiful, exotic island of Ireland. Erin is peaceful is calm.
2) Nickname? Ernin
ernin isn't defined yet.
3) Favorite color: aqua

4) Boyfriend/Girlfriend's Name: Joshua
A boyfriend who cooks, cleans, pays, and drives. A Joshua.
Wow that guy is such a joshua.
5) Favorite alcoholic drink: Scope
A Scope is a term used to describe a person who was once referred to as a spastic.
In 1994 the UK charity organisation "The Spastics Society" changed it's name to "Scope", due to too many people labelling the window lickers with this harsh insult.
Therefore it is now only fair that any spastics are now called scopes.
"You fucking scope, stop licking that window"
6) Favorite food? Nachos
slang word for pot coined by a group of high school kids from northern VA (which spread quickly as far north as Boston, as far south as Savannah) both in honor of their favorite food and as another name for their favorite recreational drug. This name has been tested and proven for safe use in public.
In history class and across the room, "Hey man, those nachos we had this weekend were fantastic.
"
"Yeah I know what you mean, I stuffed myself with nachos all weekend.

9) Your last name? Gee
Irish word for snatch or pussy
I licked her gee all night
**Holy shit I had NO idea!! Now my name is basically Irish Pussy.
great**
10) favorite musical artist? The Grateful Dead
A band in the "hippie years" who wrote such songs as Friend of the Devil and Truckin'. Had fanatic followers called Dead Heads.
The Grateful Dead is a great band.
11) favorite online friend in which you have never met in person?
Kimya Dawson
a singer from the band "Moldy Peaches", who has some solo albums, including Remember that I Love You, I'm Sorry That Sometimes I'm Mean, Hidden Vagenda and Knock-Knock Who?
Many of her songs were featured in the movie Juno which came out at the end of 07.
Her sound is relaxing and whimsical and amazing.
Stella: Hey, did you see Juno yet? i loved the sound track!
Luke: Yeah, me too, I love Kimya Dawson!

Crafty Crafty
When I started this blog I wanted it to represent my crafty side and give me a place to showcase and share my work and ideas. I wanted a small part of the blog to be about everything else in my life, the "cetera" mind you. So far it's been all cetera and no craft. Poor things. To help rectify that situation I am going to post some pics of my craft room and in a few days announce a crafty giveaway-so stay tuned!!
Now on with the pics!
This is my jug holding my rods already covered in slip to make glass beads. I love making them with the fire and the glass and the melting but I am so so bad at it! These are a few of my paints in the black hole known as the paint drawer. I swear it's about ten miles deep.
These are some of my shelves, some of my favorite books, pics and memento's.
This is my tree that I painted on the wall. I love this color of green and I have an unnatural obsession with TREES!

Horton Hears a Who
Very Cute!! I'm a major elephant lover and Dr.Seuss fan so this movie was right up my alley. We went to our local "cheap seats" for $1.50 worth of entertainment. There's nothing like the cheap seats on a warm Tuesday evening with a plate of stale, overpriced nachos to let you know that Summer has officially arrived!
Does everyone have "cheap seats"? Old, rundown theatres that only show a few shows at a time for a very discounted price. Ours is the Hornbeck Theatre and it's well over 70 years old. It's a beautiful building nestled in the heart of downtown. Walking in transports you back to when movies were a special treat and movie theatres were wondrous. I saw my very first movie there(that I can remember) Batteries Not Included. My sister, me, my brother and the neighbor boy all sitting in the front row, eating Necco Wafers and sharing a Coke. We sat so close and I was so small that the movie looked HUGE. It's crazy to think of all the memories I have of that place. Crazy to think of all the people that have been in that building. It blows my mind that I go to the same theatre my great grandparents went to. Hope beyond hope, it'll be the theatre my kids get to go to, too.

What I'm Reading
I first found Alice Hoffman at our libraries annual book sale. I picked up a well-used copy of Blackbird House and soon discovered it to be the best fifty cents ever spent. This woman can spin a story with all of these really in depth character's and then make everything come back together in this tidy little package. Her stories take you somewhere and let you in on other peoples little secrets, their little tick tockings of everyday. Never horribly dramatic, gruesome, mysteries or lovey-dovey just putting you there to watch lives unfold.

Sex and the City
Best friend Christa and I went to see Sex and the City tonight while our boys went to see Indiana Jones. Our movie was definitely better! They answered every unanswered question left when the season ended. The biggest question to me was what Mr.Big's name really was and now I know! It wasn't exactly what I had in mind but it fits him. Mr.Big's name is.....John James Preston. It is a great movie though, very thorough, sometimes a little long, but wonderful. Don't even get me started on the clothes!! Some were a little awful but most of them were AMAZING. Carrie had an Eiffel Tower bag(that she's carrying in the pic)that was awesome and Samantha had silver/diamond encrusted fish bone high heels that I would kill for! I could wear them to Wal-Mart or maybe outside to water the gardens...just as long as I got to wear them!
